The Thunder Bay Congregation of the Worldwide Church of God was
established in 1971. Over the years, our numbers have varied, but
currently there are about 40 members including families, singles, and seniors.
And while our numbers are small, they give us a great feeling of family
and unity in Christ Jesus.
Our pastor Maurice
Yurkiw visits regularly from Winnipeg where he also serves the Winnipeg, Manitoba
congregation. Locally, Mr. and Mrs. Linke, our local church Elder and
Deaconess, have served the Thunder Bay area tirelessly for many years.
Thunder Bay itself is a city
of about 125,000 situated at the head of Lake Superior near the centre of
Canada. It was settled in the early 19th century as a fur trading post but
now serves as Canada's principle eastern grain port with ships from the world
over visiting its port. Thunder Bay is a favourite destination for many tourists
and outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the unspoiled wilderness of Northwestern
Ontario.

Our vision is for a church that joyfully and zealously embraces Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour through the grace of God by faith. The Church promotes an environment in which every member experiences the love of God and matures in holiness and godly living. Members are fully enabled to use their God-given spiritual gifts for the edifying of the whole body in love for the work of the gospel to the glory of the Father.
For more information, check out Our Vision and Mission.
Services are held each Saturday at 11:00 am at the South Neebing Community Centre located at 1841 Mountain Road in Thunder Bay, (just south of the city, off highway 61 past the Best Western NorWester Motel and Tournament Centre). Services last for about 60 minutes and are followed by sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. Visitors are always welcome but it is recommended that you contact our local church elder before attending as services are sometimes held elsewhere if the Community Centre is unavailable.
We offer a wonderful atmosphere for families who wish to gather in Jesus' name. If you would like to join us for worship services and fellowship, we would be most happy to see you. Just drop by or call our local church elder for further information.
