Mrs. Ames' Life:

Born in 1896, Aganetha Guenther grew up on a farm near Schoenwiese, Manitoba and attended school in North Dakota during the summer months. As an adult, she worked as a housekeeper and cook in North Dakota and later in Saskachewan. In the 1930's, she met her future husband Bert Ames while working as a camp cook near Dryden, Ontario. After her husband died in 1958, Mrs. Ames moved to Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay).

Mrs. Ames became a member of the Worldwide Church of God in 1964 and has visited feast sites all over the world including New Zealand, Jordan, Australia, Alaska, Africa and Czechoslovakia. More recently, at 93 years of age, Mrs. Ames went on the Mediterranean Cruise in 1990.

Mrs. Ames will always be remembered for her determination and zest for life. With the help of Tony Vincenzoni, she regulary attended church up until the last few months of her life. A big hug, especially from the children, would always bring a big smile to Mrs. Ames face. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
